The Fatima Province Volunteers’ Meeting was held in Seville

On the weekend of September 24-26, after a difficult time marked by the absence of face-to-face meetings due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Encounter of Volunteers of the Province of Fatima was held in Seville. About fifty participants lived the experience of recognising themselves as persons linked to the Claretian mission, sent to build a more just and fraternal world, feeling in communion from Andalusia, Extremadura, the Canary Islands, Portugal and Zimbabwe.

The motto of the encounter, “Dare to build fraternity”, has revolved around this invitation of Pope Francis to strengthen the culture of encounter, social friendship, the recognition of the dignity and rights of every human being, and to let our eyes and hearts be transformed by the love of God.

The Eucharist on the last day was a privileged space for thanksgiving and to place everything we had experienced in the Lord’s hands. It was presided by Fr. Álvaro Rodríguez cmf, from the mission of Zimbabwe, and was concelebrated by Fr. Gabriel Ponce, coordinator of SOMI, and Fr. Carlos Candeias, Provincial Superior of Fátima, who joined in this important moment of the meeting.

All the participants were able to get to know each other, share, learn, listen, feel… fill their hearts and feel sent to transform reality through fraternity. Thank you! Thank you!
