Serving the Word: Mt 5: 1-12

Friday 1 November

Matthew 5, 1-12:
“Rejoice and be glad, for your reward will be great in heaven.”

The solemnity of All Saints is one of the happiest and most cheerful feasts in the Christian calendar. We celebrate all those countless Christians who passed through this life embodying the beatitudes that Jesus proclaims today.
To all those brothers and sisters who knew how to be poor in spirit, who cried, who suffered, who hungered and thirsted for righteousness, who were merciful and pure of heart, who worked for peace and who were persecuted simply for being Christians.
Anonymous saints who are not on the altars.
Surely we know many of them because they have lived with us, working humbly in the construction of the Kingdom of God, without giving themselves any importance but loving with the effort of their body and the joy of their heart. Give yourself today to all these saints.
They are our brothers and sisters who have preceded us on the way to the common home of our Father. They continue loving us and also continue in our way of following Jesus.
Good day.
