Mark 4, 21-25:
“The amount you measure out is the amount you will be given – and more besides; for the person who has, will be given more; from the person who has not, even what he has will be taken away.”
We are very accustomed to measuring
We measure time, we measure space, we measure things and we even measure people.
And we usually measure so as to take advantage.
* we measure time so as to charge
* we measure space so as to speculate.
* we measure people for what each one can realise.
Today Jesus tells us in the Gospel that the measure we use for others, they will also use with us.
He has just one measure: that of love, mercy and pardon.
And he invites us to only use this measure. The measure of freely given and disinterested love.
Don’t forget that the measure of Christian love is to love as Christ loved. And Jesus loved without measure.
Today break all your measures of weight, length, capacity and make yours the measure of Jesus.
If you make his yours, with his he will measure you.
Good day.
