Serving the Word: John 13, 1-15

THURSDAY, APRIL 9 – MAUNDY THURSDAY

John 13, 1-15:
“If I then, the Teacher and the Lord, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet. I have given you an example, so that what I have done to you, you may also do.

We begin the Lord’s Passover.
Today, Maundy Thursday, we are invited to take into account four fundamental aspects of our Christian life:
1: Institution of the Eucharist: participate today – even if it’s from your home – in the evening Mass of the Lord’s Supper. Try also to be with our Lord for a while at the “in the garden.
2: The Washing of the Feet: the follower of Jesus is a person in service. He is a person who kneels before others and always wears a towel.
3: Jesus gives us the New Commandment, which is “his commandment”: “love one another as I have loved you”.
4: Institution of the Priesthood: pray much today for all priests and entrust them to the Lord.
Good day.
