Serving the Word: Jn 14, 1-6

Saturday 2 November

John 14, 1-6:
“I am the way, the truth and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me.”

Today we are celebrating the memory of all the faithful departed.
Those who have preceded us in the sign of faith and who have taught us to walk in the truth and in life.
Those we believe have gone to the Father through Jesus and that in some way or another, have lived these words of Saint Augustine:
“If you run astray, you advance to no avail. And what is worse to simply walk to tire yourself out and walk in vain. Your error is greater the more you stray from the path.
Run, but run along the path of Christ, because he said: “I AM THE WAY”.
Run, knowing that you are going in the right direction, since Christ himself added: ” I AM THE TRUTH”.
Run to him, direct yourself to him and you will find LIFE.
Precisely because you are running towards Jesus Christ, he will come to you.
You were far away, you were wandering in remote countries and with such a debility that you couldn’t move.
The doctor came down to you, he approached you, who were sick, and the way was laid out in this valley of pilgrimage.
Walk, therefore, by that path which is Christ, and you will be saved”.
Good day.
