Hayes: A well informed parish

Manyof our parishes have different ways of keeping their parish community and society in general informed of the parishes, projects, etc. This is the case of the Parish of the Immaculate Heart of Mary in Hayes, England.
One of its parishioners, Gael, tells us something about the information Bulletin that they have.

My name is Gael Somerville and I moved into the parish of the Immaculate Heart of Mary in Hayes in 2002. Our parish is a really busy one and I soon saw that many people were very active supporting the parish in many ways and helping run a lot of groups within the parish for various interests.
Initially I was too busy due to personal commitments to help out, but there came a time when I found my commitments lessening and I had a bit more time to get involved in the activities of the parish.
Some wonderful people were already producing a quarterly Parish Bulletin to share all the news from around the parish and they still do all the hard work; but they needed someone to help format the Bulletin and with my experience in producing health education materials, I felt able to help.
My role is to order and format all the items that the hard-working contributors submit, add illustrations if needed, and headlines, but the contributors and folk who chase up contributions really deserve all the credit for the Bulletin. Not forgetting, of course, the important proofing that our wonderful priests undertake for us.
