On the 24th of November, in the Auditorium Maestro José Gomes, kindly provided by the Parish Council of Grijó and Sermonde, the school management and the Pastoral Council of the Colégio Internato dos Carvalhos (CIC) offered to all the staff a training session on the life and work of St. Anthony Mary Claret.
The participants were invited to watch the film “Claret” and to know a little more about the founder of the Congregation of the Missionaries Sons of the Immaculate Heart of Mary (Claretian Missionaries), the titular entity of the school. The afternoon began with a brief socio-political contextualisation of Spain at the time in which Fr. Claret lived, as well as some of the challenges he encountered during his journey. Dr. Rui Jorge, professor of History, and Fr. Vítor Pinto, cmf, intervened. Once the participants were in context, the film was shown.
The activity was a space of encounter among the participants, and it also served to know better the bio-bibliography of Fr. Claret and to rediscover the Claretian identity.
