The ECEM continues with its itinerant and face-to-face missionary activity

The Claretian Team of Missionary Evangelisation (ECEM) continues developing its itinerant and face-to-face missionary activity that the current situation of the COVID-19 pandemic favours. Thus, during the month of October it was able to be present in different contexts with diverse actions:

– RE-start: This is an initiative that ECEM offers to the parishes to restart the life and mission of the parishes after the break caused by the pandemic. It was held in the parish of San Antonio de Padua in the El Polvorín neighbourhood of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. It took place on 1 and 2 October. It also took place in the Claret Parish of Seville on the 2nd.

– Missionary Week: In the Parish of Torreblascopedro (Jaén). The missionary week took place from the 23rd to the 31st of October with the theme “Missionary Disciples”. Together with Antonio Ávila, member of the ECEM, were Jorge Sánchez Palacios cmf and the layman Alejandro.

– Christian Family Assemblies: On 6 October, support was given to the setting up and formation of those born in the mission of the Parish of San Sebastián de Alcalá de Guadaira which took place twenty-eight years ago.

– Missionary action: On the occasion of the novena of the Cristo de Chircales de Valdepeñas de Jaén from 22 to 30 October.

– Novena of the Heart of Mary in Almendralejo: A member of the team preached for three days.

– Training of catechists: In the parish of San Sebastián de Alcalá de Guadaira from 4 to 6 October.

– Consecrated life: Animation of the retreat at the beginning of the General Chapter of the Sisters of the Love of God, from 6 to 10 October; Formation retreat for the Little Sisters of the Elderly Homeless of Don Benito -19 to 21 October-.

– Itinerary of prayer for couples: From 10 October, we have begun to send the materials via Whatsapp, which will continue throughout the present course. The aim is to help each of the spouses and the couple to pray personally. There are currently more than 150 couples registered.

– Programming of new missionary actions: The various trips made have made possible interviews with the Vicar General and other priests of the Diocese of the Canary Islands; the preparation of a missionary week in Tocina (Seville); the programming of missionary actions in La Gomera…

– Presentation of the General Chapter to the Province: Pedro Cabrera attended the meeting of the communities of Seville Curia and Seville Claret; Cordoba San Pablo and Cordoba Miralbaida; Malaga; Almendralejo and Valencia del Ventoso; Don Benito; Granada – ministerial group.

The ECEM calendar for the current academic year 2021-22 is filling up with on-site missionary activities in Andalusia, Extremadura and the Canary Islands. Let us hope that the evolution of the pandemic will be favourable and that this team, God willing, will be able to continue developing its itinerant mission.
