Take care of your family: To perform some action that shows that we are not looking out for our own interest, but for God’s.

SUNDAY I OF THE TIME OF LENT (Mt 4:1-11)

Jesus confronts the choice of his own Messianism by discarding offers to use it for self-interest, to base it on power, or to use his status as the Son of God for his mission on earth.
Often in our prayers we ask almost exclusively for our own interests and well-being, both for ourselves and for our children and families. What matters to us is that our children do well in their profession and are happy, according to the standards of the world.
Does this coincide with Jesus’ choice?
Lent has begun, which is a time of prayer. Let us make a deep analysis of our prayer, of what we ask and what we desire. And if that coincides with Jesus’ attitude or with his rejected temptations.

PROPOSAL TO CARE FOR THE FAMILY this week
This Lent we will not put God and our personal and family prayer at the service of our own interests, forgetting the Father’s plan, but rather attending to Jesus’ response to the temptations, which continue to follow us.
