Take care of your family: Let us thank each other in the family for what they do for us even though we might not deserve it “in human eyes”.

25th Sunday in Ordinary Time (Mt 20:1-16)

With today’s Gospel parable, Jesus reveals the contrast between God’s way of thinking (the owner of the vineyard, his Kingdom) and that of men (the workers). At the end of the day (life), we will have the reward, which we must consider not as payment proportionate to our service (a right), but as a free gift from God, who loves us. Because, even in these days, we tend to believe ourselves before God with more rights than “those called later”. How sad when this happens within a family, when “acquired rights” are imposed on the merciful and generous gaze of God!

Proposal to take care of the family this week:
Let us cultivate an attitude of humility and gratitude for so much received from God and try to avoid judgments that condemn the behaviour of others. God’s way of thinking… is not ours.
