Take care of your family: Decide what we can do as a family in solidarity with others in this time of pandemic.

IV SUNDAY OF EASTER (Jn 10:1-10)

Jesus shows himself in this gospel as shepherd (who loves each of his sheep as they are) and door (as a way of freedom). We believers need to be attentive to the life to which this Shepherd, who is the only one, leads us. We do not need fanatics who defend truths in an authoritarian way; if we are attentive, even if we are surrounded by difficulties, our Good Shepherd, Jesus, will let us know how and where our life should go. And our families must be the first place to live it.

Proposal to take care of the family this week:
Today more than ever, from an enclosed space as is our home, and from the conviction that “everything will be fine”, our commitment will be to exercise solidarity on the way that the Good Shepherd leads us. Surrounded by pain and death we look at those who risk their lives to try to save the lives of others, those who bring food to the elderly and disabled, those who “dig deep” (share money) to give money to families who do not have it, those who sew at home to cover those who work in the front line, those who show gestures of affection for their neighbour… Our commitment as a family is to continue to be attentive and to join this tide, because the “Good Shepherd” is among them: giving life and guiding us.
