Take care of your family: acknowledge before the other family members something that is wrong

XXX SUNDAY ORDINARY TIME (Luke 18, 9-14)

Jesus in this story lets us see that the humility of the publican, a person considered uncleanin his day, an attitude that brings us closer to God, recognizing his misery, and feel in need of forgiveness and compassion. On the other hand, the Lord does not consider the Pharisee a righteous person because he prays from vanity and despises others, without acknowledging any reprehensible action for himself. And in our families? How do we treat each other? Do we recognize our gaffs, weaknesses, miseries and try to change whatever takes us away from God and others or always believing ourselves to be right and not accepting that there are things in us that are not as they should be?
In this parable Jesus speaks of one of the noblest values of humans and very necessary for the family: humility. And he invites us to put aside the pride, arrogance, indifference. From these attitudes we should live within the bosom of our families and give examples to each other.
Proposal to take care of the family this week:
Acknowledge before the other family members something that is wrong. Because humility is the most suitable way for our message to have the desired effect in our loved ones. And, by extension, to achieve a more just and humane society, closer to God.
