Take care of your familly: Make some gesture of mercy to a family member with whom you feel distant

SUNDAY 7th IN ORDINARY TIME (Mt 5:38-48)

In opposition to the Law of Retribution, which was widespread throughout the ancient world and which “regulated” revenge, Jesus proclaims in his NEW NEWS, the law of UNIVERSAL LOVE, which for many of us is difficult to understand and at times impossible to understand: “LOVE YOUR ENEMIES AND PRAY FOR THOSE WHO PERSECUTE YOU”. For our Father God, good and merciful, “maks the sun to rise on the good and on the evil, and sends rain on the righteous and on the unrighteous”. An invitation from Jesus that, if we had to start somewhere… it is through the family itself, where there is usually no lack of relationships that are tense, wounded, distant, unjust, poisoned, resentful…

PROPOSAL TO CARE FOR THE FAMILY this week
Consistent with the message that Jesus transmits to us in today’s Gospel, we propose these three actions to be carried out during the week:

*To greet someone we haven’t greeted for some time because of a certain ” aversion ”
* Practice during this week the EMPATHY with all the members of our FAMILY, especially with the one that we consider more detached or unfriendly.
* When we pray the Lord’s Prayer, emphasize the request “Forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us”
