Take care of the family: Think about our family meals…Are they really a place of “encounter”?

Luke 22, 14-23, 56. Palm Sunday.

We celebrate the beginning of Holy Week with Palm Sunday.During the Eucharist the story of the Passion is proclaimed.Within it the institution of the Eucharist in the framework of the Last Supper of Jesus is found. He establishes this celebration in his memory until the end of humanity, since with the Eucharist he is present among us every day.
At the Last Supper Jesus anticipates his end and highlights the weakness and misery of the human condition when, given the fear of being arrested also, his closest follower, Peter, turns his back on him despite having been chosen to build his church. Not a few times we too “deny him” with our attitude and behaviour within our families.

Proposal for taking care of the family this week:
For the family, the real contemplation of Jesus in the Eucharist constitutes an inexhaustible source of joy and hope, the force that helps us to start afresh every day, to overcome our weaknesses, our miseries, which is only possible with the presence of God in the heart of parents and children.Likewise we need the Eucharist, we need the frequent family encounters (lunch or dinner), as a “holy” place where natural interaction takes place, sharing thoughts and bringing differences.Take care that our meals to be truly a place of encounter
