We continue with the echoes of the celebration of Father Claret’s Day (24th October) in different areas. The parishes of our Province of Fatima lived with great joy the feast of our patron saint, with different celebrations. We tell you some of them.
Parish of the Pilar of Tenerife. The Parish of Our Lady of the Pilar in Tenerife held a triduum in honour of St. Anthony Mary Claret, which focused on the personality of our patron saint, who was full of lights, but also of shadows: “He was aware of all this when he resolved to have the heart of a judge for himself”.
Heart of Mary Parish of Las Palmas. Triduum in honour of our patron saint, focusing each day on a different aspect: weaknesses, virtues, the heart of Mary? The first day of the triduum counted with the presence and preaching of Juan Carlos Martos cmf, director of the Centre of Claretian Studies of Vic.
Parish of St. Anthony Mary Claret of Seville. From Saturday, October 21 until the day of our patron saint, the Parish was full of life with different activities and a triduum in his honour. In addition, on Saturday 21st, as a start of the activities around Saint Anthony Mary Claret, the neighbourhood of Heliópolis was able to enjoy a procession in his honour, with the collaboration of families and students of the Claret School of Seville.
Church of the Immaculate Heart of Mary – The Fathers of Almendralejo and the Parish of Our Lady of Carmen in Malaga. The Fathers celebrated a triduum in honour of our patron saint, which had a notable attendance and participation of different groups present in the Parish. The same was done in the parish of Carmen in Malaga.
Parish of the Holy Spirit in Granada. From the 21st to the 24th October, the day of his solemnity, the parish celebrated a triduum in his honour where they prayed with great enthusiasm and strength that the same ardent charity that inflamed his heart would allow them to continue with intensity and efficacy their apostolic work. In addition, this year has been special because we have been able to celebrate the feast of Father Claret in the new temple, inaugurated at the beginning of September, where a good number of parishioners and friends came to accompany us on this important day for our community.
Nossa Senhora de Areosa Parish. Among the activities that took place in honour of our patron saint, the young people sang the hymn to Father Claret and dedicated it to him with great enthusiasm.
Parish of Tondela. It celebrated a solemn mass in honour of our patron saint, as well as exhibited the relic of Father Claret for the adoration of the faithful. As they recalled, the presence of Claretian missionaries in Tondela dates back to 1990, a sign that the spirit of Claret is alive and universal. At present, the Claretian community of Tondela, made up of three missionary priests, has the mission of pastoral guidance of the Parish of Tondela, spiritual accompaniment in the Church of Carmo, collaboration with neighbouring parishes and support to groups and movements in the diocese of Viseu. One of the focuses of its apostolic action is the emotion and accompaniment of families and young people.
