Serving the Word: Mt 7: 15-20

Matthew 7, 15-20:
“By their fruits you shall know them”.

By our baptism and our confirmation all of us Christians are prophets.
To be a prophet does not mean to predict the future. That is what we can call divination.
To be a prophet in a Christian sense means being a person who proclaims the Gospel of Jesus.
And this pronouncement we can make authentically or falsely.
To be an authentic prophet is to be a prophet as Jesus was:
☆ proclaiming the love of God,
☆ proclaiming the forgiveness and mercy of the Father,
☆ proclaiming the forgiveness of brothers and sisters for each other,
☆ proclaiming the joy of salvation,
☆ proclaiming, in short, that we are children of God and all are brothers and sisters of each other.
We are false prophets when we are prophets of calamities, punishments and condemnations…
Revive in yourself the gift that you have of being a prophet.
Try to be a prophet in the style of Jesus and that they may know by the fruits the kind of life you want to transmit.
“By their fruits you shall know them”.
Good day.
