Serving the Word: Mt 4: 18-22

SATURDAY 30 NOVEMBER
Matthew 4, 18-22:
“Come and follow me, and I will make you fishers of men. Immediately they left their nets and followed him.

The preaching of Jesus in the Gospels begins with an invitation to discipleship and conversion.
To change one’s mentality and one’s life by following Him.
Jesus invites us to immerse ourselves in the Gospel, because to the extent that the Gospel is our norm of life, this life of ours will change.
How the life of these first followers of Jesus changed: from fishers of fish, they became fishers of men.
How many people debate among the waves of doubt, of unbelief, of indifference, of passivity…!
How many people are shipwrecked in seas of poverty, misery, ignorance…!
To fish in those seas together with Jesus!
To this the Lord invites us today: “Come and follow me, and I will make you fishers of men”.
He invites us to watch over and help so many men and women who need a “lifeguard”.
Let Jesus make you a fisher of men and women and send you to the troubled seas of the world.
Ask the Lord today for strength to leave your nets, to leave everything that prevents you from following Him, letting your life become more transparent of the Gospel every day and give meaning to other lives that are victim of so many “shipwrecks”.
Good day.
