Serving the Word: Mt 11: 25-30

WEDNESDAY 29TH APRIL

Matthew 11, 25-30:
“Jesus answered and said, I thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you have hidden these things from the wise and learned and revealed them to mere children. Yes, Father, this is what you have done”.

We sometimes think that prayer is for educated people who have studied the Holy Scriptures and who understand spiritual life.
But Jesus in today’s gospel gives thanks to the Father because he has revealed the mysteries of his Kingdom not just to the learned and the clever but also to the simple people.
Stand before God in all humility, which is the same as walking in truth, and simply try to be with the one you know loves you. This is prayer according to St. Teresa of Jesus.
Ask the Lord today to give you that simplicity and wisdom of heart to enter into the mysteries of the Kingdom. To know how to “be alone, trying to be friends with the one we know loves us”.
Good day.
