Serving the Word: Mk 3: 7-12

THURSDAY 23RD JANUARY

Mark 3, 7-12:
“Jesus withdrew with his disciples to the shore of the lake and a crowd from Galilee followed him. When they heard what he was doing, many people came from Judea, Jerusalem and Idumea, from the Transjordan, from the vicinity of Tyre and Sidon. He ordered his disciples to have a boat ready so that the crowd would not overwhelm him”.

Why are so many people looking for Jesus?
+ Because they all want to feel his healing and saving power.
+ Because they all want to feel his love and proximity.
+ Because they know that Jesus cares about people and that people also care about hm.
+ Because, as Pope Francis would say, Jesus wants to “smell like the sheep”.
Today too, we all need Jesus’ closeness and affection.
We also all need his healing, his healing strength and his saving power.
Do not hesitate to come close to Jesus and to touch Him so that His grace may be transmitted to your life.
You will approach and touch him in prayer, in the Eucharist, in the sacrament of Reconciliation.
And keep in mind that, if you are united with Jesus, through you also the strength, the grace, the forgiveness, the joy and the salvation of Jesus will pass to many others.
Work to be united with Him.
In Jesus you will find LIFE and from Him you too will be able to transmit LIFE with a capital L.
Good day.
