Serving the Word: Mk 8: 27-33

Mark 8, 27-33:
And you, “Who do you say that I am?”.

Who do you say Jesus is?.
To tell others who Jesus is, you have to be clear about who Jesus is for you. And this is a question you can’t answer solely from reason but, above all, from the heart and from your life. Until Jesus ceases to be a simple idea in your head and becomes the person that governs and directs your life, your actions, your feelings and your thinking, you will not be able to answer who Jesus is for you and you will not be able to say who Jesus is for others.
Nor will you be able to answer that question until you embrace the cross: “He who wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake and for the sake of the Gospel will save it”. When your life is following behind Jesus with your cross and carrying the cross of others, you’ll be getting to know Jesus from the heart, you’ll be telling yourself and others who Jesus is.
Good day.
