Serving the Word: Lk 8: 1618

Luke 8, 16-18:
“So take care how you hear, for anyone who has will be given more; from anyone who has not, even what he thinks he has will be taken away”.

It would be good to spend some quiet time today to read, meditate and pray this piece of the Gospel.
Whenever I read it, I see myself very much reflected in it and very challenged by it.
I wonder to what extent I have a genuine desire that Jesus is the real Lord of my life.
Because this makes me think a lot: “anyone who has will be given more; from anyone who has not, even what he thinks he has will be taken away”.
And I ask the Lord that I have a real desire to follow him so that he gives me even more desires and that the little I have does not get extinguished.
It also alerts me to that “no one who has lit a lamp covers it with a vessel or puts it under a bed, but puts it on the lamp stand, so that those who enter may see the light”.
Because it can also happen that the light that Jesus has ignited in my heart, if it is not cared for can, little by little, begin to weaken until it goes out completely.
Let us ask Jesus for an authentic desire to follow him and never let us extinguish the light that has been lit in us.
Good day.
