Serving the Word: Lk 4: 14-22a

FRIDAY 10 JANUARY 2020

Luke 4, 14-22a:
“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he has anointed me. He has sent me to bring good news to the poor, to proclaim liberty to captives and to the blind new sight. To give freedom to the oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favour”.

You are beginning a new year. I wish you and all of us a year of the Lord’s grace.
And I am sure that the Lord will pour out his grace on you and on all of us.
Ask the Lord today that his Spirit, who has been in you since your baptism and has marked you with his anointing, may also send you: To bring good news.
To give freedom and not slavery.
To be light for so many blind eyes.
Let yourself be led by the Spirit of Jesus so that with his strength you may go out onto the roads of men and women carrying the ointment that will heal the wounds of so many of your brothers and sisters.
Good day.
