Serving the Word: Lk 24: 35-48

THURSDAY APRIL 16 – THURSDAY IN THE OCTAVE OF EASTER

Luke 24, 35-48:
” You are witnesses to this.”

To be a witness of something it is necessary to have seen, heard, experienced what one is witnessing.
The first disciples of Jesus saw, heard, felt and experienced his risen presence.
We are to be people who meet Jesus personally in prayer, in the sacraments and in his Word.
We are to be people who feel his wounds in the wounds of our brothers and sisters, in their suffering and pain.
We must also be people who feel the joy of his presence and who transmit this joy.
We are the present witnesses of the new life brought to us by the Risen Jesus.
With the strength that Jesus gives you, do not be afraid to be his witness today in the world.
Good day.
