Serving the Word: Lk 21, 20-28

THURSDAY 28 NOVEMBER

Luke 21, 20-28:
“Arise, lift up your heads; your deliverance is near at hand.

From the time we hear the first news of the day, until we retire to rest after turning off the television, we are hearing and reading “bad news”. And yet we Christians are people of Good News.
We have experienced, even in the midst of struggles and difficulties, the mercy and love of a God who liberates and saves.
Pope Francis says in the “Joy of the Gospel”: “No one can take away from us the dignity that this infinite and unbreakable love gives us. He allows us to lift up our heads and start again, with a tenderness that never disappoints us and that can always bring back our joy.
We have to keep our heads up without falling into useless pessimism that blocks us and prevents any illusion of doing good.
We must work tirelessly to transform our society.
We cannot get tired of doing the impossible every day, to do our bit to improve the world by bringing closer and closer the liberation that the Lord brings us.
Good day.
