Serving the Word: Lk 20: 27-40

SATURDAY 23 NOVEMBER
Luke 20, 27-40:
“He is not the God of the dead, but of the living; for to Him all are alive.
What a joy it is to hear these words on the lips of Jesus at the end of the liturgical year!
Indifference surrounds us. We are immersed in a world of violence. We are bombarded with news of deaths, of tragedies, of wars, of genocides, of massacres of innocents… It seems that everything speaks to us of death.
Jesus always fills us with hope. In Him we have the certainty of our future resurrection. Life has triumphed with Him. Death has no power over Him. Jesus, our God, is not a God of the dead, he is a God of the living.
Life is assured. He Himself said that He is the Resurrection and the Life and He also said that whoever believes in Him will not die forever.
As Christians and followers of Jesus, we can never worship death but must always celebrate life.
Never enter the circle of death. Never enter into everything that leads to death.
Our God is not a God of the dead, but a God of the living.
Live the joy of life that Jesus gives us!
Good day
