Serving the Word: Lk 19: 45-48

FRIDAY 22 NOVEMBER
Luke 19, 45-48:
“My house is a house of prayer, but you have turned it into a den of thieves”.
A very human tendency and of all times, also of ours, is to try to control God, thinking that in this way He does not control us.
That is why we locate his presence in a place and dedicate certain times to him.
But God always surpasses us and goes beyond our human schemes.
He does not need material temples because his true temple is the heart of every human being. Nor does He need specific times because the worship He wants is in spirit and in truth.
Of course, it is necessary that we have special places and times to meet Him.
But let us never lose the meaning: each person is a living stone of the sanctuary that God wants.
You are also one of those living stones.
May the sanctuary of your heart be the place where the Lord continually abides.
Ask Him to cleanse it of all that hinders you from meeting Him and to throw from it everything that can turn it into a market-place or a commercial bank.
Good day.
