Serving the Word: Lk 16, 1-8

Friday 8 November

Luke 16, 1-8:
“For the children of this world are more astute in dealing with their own kind than are the children of the light”.

Apart from other things you can think of in reading today’s Gospel, you realize that the administrator of this rich man does everything possible to become good friends with the needy.
What this administrator does raises in me a question that I share with you: Do I use the personal resources that I have – because God has given me them – with those who need them?.
We all have many goods that we should learn how to use and manage in favour of others by putting all our cunning and creativity into them.
At least, putting all the cunning and creativity that we put into many other things.
It is to praise the cunning and creativity of many organizations: in everything that is done by our attempts to care for others- who call at many doors for that love and solidarity can be spread throughout the world.
And it is also to praise the cunning and the creativity of so many people who put their skills to the service of those who suffer most.
Today present to the Lord to all those people and associations and ask that he gives you also energy and initiatives in the promotion of those most in need.
Good day.
