Serving the Word: Lk 12: 8-12

Tuesday 22 October

Luke 12, 35-38:
“Be like men waiting for their master to return from the wedding feast, ready to open the door as soon as he comes and knocks. Happy those servants whom the master finds awake when he comes”.

We are mistaken if we think that the Lord will only come to visit us at the moment of our death.
Certainly, at that time each and every one of us will receive a visit from the Lord. But we have to realize that the Lord is visiting us at every moment.
He visits us each time we participate in the Eucharist, in the sacrament of forgiveness and in the other sacraments. He visits us whenever we meditate to internalize his Word.
He visits us in the people who daily come our way especially the weak, the small and the needy.
He visits us in small or large events happening in our lives or in the lives of others. We have to be watching and prepared to know how to discover these visits, these calls and these presences of the Lord.
Be waiting ready to receive the continuous visits and the continuous presence and call of the Lord.
Good day.
