SATURDAY 15 AUGUST
Luke 1, 39-56:
“Mary said, My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord, my spirit rejoices in God my Saviour, because he has looked upon the humiliation of his handmaid. From now on all generations will call me blessed, because the Mighty One has done great things for me.
Today we celebrate the feast of the Virgin Mary in her Assumption into heaven in both body and soul.
What Mary is already in her fullness, we too are called to be.
She already lives the resurrection and the full life with God that we all await.
Mary recognizes that God has done marvels in her.
One of these wonders is that he has given her to all of us as a mother.
Go to her and ask her to keep your hope and the hope of all her children.
May she make us feel how God fills every human being with his love.
May she make us feel that we all fit into her Mother’s heart.
Ask her also that, like her, you may be the bearer of hope and joy.
And tell her very strongly that, like her, you also want to commit yourself to the transformation of the world according to God’s project.
Good day.
