THURSDAY, APRIL 30TH
John 6, 44-51:
“I am the bread of life.”
Jesus continues to present himself today as the bread of life.
We need the material bread to feed our bodies.
We need the bread of knowledge to feed our minds.
And we need many other “loaves” to live with quality and dignity.
All are necessary and if only there were “loaves” for everyone.
And we also need the bread of the spirit. Of that bread of life which is Jesus himself.
Without this bread, our spirit weakens and ends up dying and we become people who live at ground level without any relevance.
Participate, now however you can, in the Eucharist.
Eat, even if you can now only spiritually, the bread of Jesus’ body.
He is given to you as food so you may have life forever.
