Serving the Word: John 5: 1-16

TUESDAY, MARCH 24

John 5:1-16:
“Get up, take your stretcher and walk.”

In today’s Gospel, three imperatives appear on the lips of Jesus. They are three imperatives that are also addressed to you:

+ RISE: Do not fall asleep in your life of faith. Lent is a propitious time to wake up and get up. Leave your spiritual sleepiness or your indolence and laziness. Tune up your faith and your spiritual life.

+ TAKE UP YOUR STRETCHER: Don’t let your problems, your worries, the negative aspects that you find in your life and in the lives of others, get in the way. They are your crosses that become your ” stretchers “. Embrace them and carry them with joy. Do not let them paralyze you.

+ WALK: You are a walker behind Jesus. Walk his path. Try to be truly his follower and disciple.
Good day.
