Serving the Word: John 3: 1-8

MONDAY, APRIL 20

John 3:1-8:
“Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God Unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the Kingdom of God… You must be born again.”

The evangelist John takes advantage of Jesus’ interview with Nicodemus to give us a catechesis on baptism.
We all received it once and we are all renewing it in a special way during this Easter season.
Today we are told that baptism is a new birth. If you live your baptism, your life has to change, you have to be another person.
You are, since your baptism, like a graft attached to Jesus Christ. Let his life flow fully through you and let your life be continually renewed with new life-giving sap.
Renew again today your baptism. Renounce Satan, all his works and all his seductions and believe with all your heart in God, the Father almighty, in his only Son, Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Spirit, Lord and giver of life.
Thus you will be born again, and you will also see and enter the Kingdom of God.
Good day.
