Serving the Word: John 21: 15-19

John 21, 15-19:
“Lord, you know everything, you know that I love you”.

Three times Peter denied Jesus. Three times he repeated that he didn’t know him. His fear was stronger than his love for the Lord.
Three times Peter confesses his love for Jesus. Three times Peter needed to say that he loved the Lord so that the Lord hands him the keys of the Kingdom.
Peter wept bitterly over his triple denial to Jesus. But in the midst of those denials love was never absent.
That is why Peter wept but Judas did not weep after his betrayal.
You and I have denied Jesus many times. But what is important is that the embers of our love for Jesus never disappear from our heart.
If that fire of love exists, it will burn away any denial and continuously protect our option for Jesus and our option for following him.
Cultivate your love of the Lord in anyway you can.
Today repeat many times the humble prayer of Peter: “Lord, you know everything, you know that I love you”.
Good day.
