Serving the Word: John 16, 20-23a

FRIDAY 22ND MAY

John 16, 20-23a:
“Your sorrow shall be turned to joy… your heart shall rejoice, and no one shall take your joy from you.”

Difficulties, moments of pain, loss of hope, failure of projects, broken dreams… and so many other things, struggle in our life to steal our joy.
But nothing and no one can take it away from us if our eyes and our hearts are focused on Jesus.
With Jesus Christ, Pope Francis tells us, joy is always born and reborn.
Jesus Christ makes us live in the arms of the Father.
Living in the arms of the Father is the same as living in love.
And to live in love is to live in joy.
To feel loved by God is something so great and causes such great joy, that this feeling overcomes all sadness and makes us live the difficulties with serenity and strength without losing the joy of having Christ with us.
Live today and always the joy that Jesus Christ gives you and gives us.
Good day.
