WEDNESDAY 9 SEPTEMBER
Luke 6, 20-26:
“Blessed are the poor… Blessed are you who are hungry now… Blessed are you who now weep… Blessed are you when they hate you, exclude you, and insult you, and banish you… Rejoice and be glad, for your reward will be great in heaven.
All we have to do is get in touch with the social networks and the media to receive countless offers of all kinds and colours.
And in the end they all offer us happiness and joy.
The Beatitudes are also an offer of happiness.
When we get in touch with the Gospel and read the chapters in which Jesus proclaims the beatitudes we receive other kinds of offers to achieve happiness.
Both promise us always the attainment of that happiness to which we all aspire.
Choose Jesus’ offer. In fact, it is the offer that will really make you happy.
In your time of prayer today, listen again to the way of happiness that Jesus offers you and ask Him for the strength to choose his programme of happiness and to know how to live it.
