Serving the Word: 9th February

TUESDAY 9th FEBRUARY 2021

Mark 7, 1-13:

“These people honour me with their lips, but their heart is far from me”.

Once again, Jesus wants you to look at yourself in depth so that you do not fall into the sin of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law.

They thought that by outwardly observing rites and mechanically reciting prayers they had done enough.

And they frowned upon those who, for whatever reason, broke some of these precepts.

They did not realise that good and bad reside in the heart of every human being.

If the heart is healthy, good words, good feelings and good deeds will spring forth.

But if the heart is rotten, everything that comes out of it will be rubbish.

Revitalise your heart so that all that comes out of it is life and life in abundance.

The best medicine and vitamin for your heart is prayer and the sacraments.

Never forget your daily prayer and approach the sacraments of the Eucharist and Reconciliation frequently.

Good day.
