WEDNESDAY 9 DECEMBER 2020
Matthew 11, 28-30:
“Jesus said, ‘Come to me, all you who are weary and overburdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your soul. For my yoke is easy to bear and my burden is light”.
Within the human being there is weariness, heaviness, discouragement, dejection, anguish, sadness… and so many other negative moods.
And each person looks for a remedy where they think they will find the solution.
Today Jesus stands before you as a place of rest and comfort. He reveals himself to the simple, to those who do not focus on themselves and put him at the centre of their lives.
Jesus identifies himself with those who identify with his meekness and humility of heart.
Ask the Lord today for the simplicity necessary to open your heart to him, to listen to him, and to turn to him by placing in his love, in his heart, all the weariness and all the burdens that assail you at this time.
