Serving the Word: 4th July

TUESDAY 4th JULY 2023

Matthew 8, 23-27:

“Jesus stood up, rebuked the winds and the lake, and there came a great calm.”

Jesus never ceases to be very close to us. He himself promised: “I will be with you until the end of the world”.

Sometimes it may seem that he is asleep, that he is not interested in us and that we are sinking. As the Gospel tells us today, suddenly such strong storms arise that our poor boat seems to disappear and sink in the waves.

Do not hesitate at these times and in these situations to draw near to him and to cry out to him as loudly as the disciples did.

These are moments to trust more in him, in his Word. To cling more to prayer and ask for his help.

Trust in Jesus and don’t let fear take hold of you and think that he has abandoned you.

Remember: “I will be with you until the end of the world”.

Good day to you.
