Serving the Word: 3rd February

WEDNESDAY 3 FEBRUARY 2021

Mark 6, 1-6:

“He could not perform any miracles there, but he healed some sick people by laying his hands on them. And he was amazed at their lack of faith. And he went about the villages around him teaching.”

We find it very difficult to accept Jesus in simplicity and from humility. We like to see him more with haloes, cloaks and clouds than with a saw or a hoe in his hands.

This is what happened to his fellow countrymen who saw him working with his hands in St. Joseph’s workshop.

This did not explain his wisdom or his miracles.

God could not act by means of calloused hands.

They found it scandalous that one of their own did what he did and said what he said.

Do not seek God in extraordinary things. Seek God in the ordinary things of life.

In the most ordinary, commonplace and everyday things He will find you and you will find Him.

Try to discover him today in the normality of your day.

Good day.
