Serving the Word: 31st May

MONDAY 31st MAY 2021

Luke 1, 46-56:

“Mary said, ‘My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord, my spirit rejoices in God my Saviour, for he has looked upon the humiliation of his handmaid. From now on all generations will rejoice over me, for the Mighty One has done great deeds for me”.

Mary’s song is power, joy, wonder, prayer, thanksgiving, adoration, praise?

It is a reflection of how Mary feels loved and blessed by God.

It is worth rereading this song once more. To internalise it. Let each of its words enter our hearts. To notice the littleness, simplicity and purity of Mary’s heart.

To see how far God’s action in us can reach when we place ourselves unconditionally in his hands.

It is worthwhile to open ourselves to his will, to his presence, to his Word and let him work wonders in us.

Bless God like Mary and be grateful for his presence in your life and in the life of every human being.

Good day.
