Serving the Word: 30th January

SATURDAY 30th JANUARY 2021

Mark 4, 35-41:

“When it was evening, Jesus said to his disciples, ‘Let us go across to the other side.’ ”

Today’s Gospel begins with an invitation from Jesus: “Let’s go to the other side.

It is also an invitation he makes to each one of us.

Going to “the other side” means leaving where we are and going somewhere else.

It may be that today Jesus is inviting you to:

+ to leave the side of pride and move to the side of forgiveness,

+ that you leave the shore of selfishness and go to the shore of donation,

+ to leave the side of comfort and go to the side of work for others,

+ to leave the edge of apathy and move to the edge of enthusiasm,

+ that you leave the shores you know you should leave and go to the shores you also know that you need and that Jesus is asking of you.

Don’t be afraid of the waves or of the adverse winds. Because Jesus “even the wind and the waters obey him”.

Have faith!

Good day.
