Serving the Word: 29th April

THURSDAY 29th APRIL 2021

Matthew 11, 25-30:

“Jesus exclaimed, “Come to me, all you who are weary and overburdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find your rest. For my yoke is easy to bear and my burden is light”.

We all have bad moments throughout our life.

We feel the tiredness, the burdens – which sometimes seem to pull us down -, the sickness, the sadness, the loneliness….

And how grateful we are at such times for the support of a family or the hand of a friend!

Jesus invites us today to go to meet him in these moments of weariness and burden.

Seek him in prayer, in the Eucharist, in the sacrament of forgiveness, in the Word? Seek it also in others, because at the same time that you find rest and consolation for yourself, you will also be rest and consolation for others.

And to the extent that you are that for others, you will also find comfort and consolation for yourself.

Good day.
