Serving the Word: 28th May

FRIDAY 28th MAY 2021

Mark 11, 11-25:

“Jesus saw from afar a fig tree with leaves on it, and he went over to see if he could find anything; when he came he found nothing but leaves.”

Jesus said at the Last Supper: “The glory of my Father is that you bear much fruit”.

Because it can happen to us like the fig tree in the Gospel: we can be very leafy on the outside and have only leaves but no fruit.

We can spend our lives promising and planning, but without bearing fruit that nourishes others.

And never think of yourself as a “lost fig tree”. Let yourself be cared for by Jesus. He is willing to take care of you so that you will bear much fruit.

Have faith in the Word of Jesus: “Whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that it is given to you, and you will have it.

He will fill your hands and your heart with abundant fruit.

Good day.
