Serving the Word: 27th November

SATURDAY 27th NOVEMBER 2021

Luke 21, 34-36:

“Jesus said to his disciples, Take good care of yourselves, lest your hearts be dulled by revelry, drunkenness, and the cares of life, and that day suddenly come upon you… be alert at all times.”

Today we come to the end of the Christian year and Jesus gives us some advice in the Gospel because it can happen that, without realising it, our minds and hearts become dull and we stand idly by, trembling in the face of our fears and insecurities and closing ourselves off from hope.

On this last day of the Christian year open wide the doors of your heart and life to the Lord who comes and wants to enter.

May the burdens of life not overpower your attention to the Lord.

Try today and always to remain steadfast and constant in thinking, living and being for the Lord.

Be ready to live this coming Advent with joy and with a willingness to renew and focus on the Lord who wants a place in your life and in the lives of all of us in the midst of our hustle and bustle.

And rejoice because the Lord is very close to you and to all of us.

Have a good day and a happy beginning of Advent.
