Serving the Word: 21th November

SATURDAY 21 NOVEMBER

Luke 20, 27-40:
“He is not the God of the dead, but of the living; for all are alive in him.”

What a joy it is to hear these words on Jesus’ lips!
We are surrounded by indifference. We are immersed in a world of violence. We are bombarded with news of death, of tragedy, of war, of genocide, of the killing of innocents…of a pandemic…
It seems that everything speaks to us of death.
Jesus always fills us with hope. In Him we have the certainty of our future resurrection. With Him, life has triumphed. Against Him death has no power.
Jesus, our God, is not a God of the dead, he is a God of the living.
Life is assured. He Himself said that he is the resurrection and the life, and he also said that he who believes in him will not die forever.
As Christians and followers of Jesus, we can never worship death but must always celebrate life.
Never enter the wheel of death. Never enter into everything that leads to death.
Our God is not a God of the dead, but a God of the living.
Live the joy of life that Jesus gives us!
Good day.
