THURSDAY 1st APRIL 2021
John 13:1-15:
“For if I then, your Master and Lord, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet. I have given you an example, that what I have done for you, you also should do”.
We begin the Lord’s Paschal Feast.
Today, Maundy Thursday, we are invited to consider four fundamental aspects of our Christian life:
1: Institution of the Eucharist: participate today in the evening Mass of the Lord’s Supper. Try also to spend some time with the Lord present at the “altar of repose”.
2: The Washing of the Feet: the follower of Jesus is a person in service. He is a person kneeling before others and with the towel always girded.
3: Jesus gives us the New Commandment, which is “his commandment”: “love one another as I have loved you”.
4: Institution of the Priesthood: pray much today for all priests and commend them to the Lord.
