Serving the Word: 19th April

MONDAY 19th APRIL 2021

John 6, 22-29:

“Work, not for the food that perishes, but for the food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you.”

God wants us to be concerned about material things. He has given us intelligence and he has given us other gifts so that we can provide ourselves with food, clothing, and live a dignified life.
But there are times when we work more for the food that looks like food than for the food that lasts for eternal life.
Jesus himself tells us to seek first of all the Kingdom of God and his righteousness, and everything else will be given to us as well.
But we often seek first and foremost the extras and neglect what is essential and what is really important.
We fail to understand that the only source that can quench all the hunger and thirst of the world, and all kinds of hunger and thirst, is the source of love that Jesus taught us by his life and his word.
Try to work today for this food that gives eternal life to you and to all humanity.
Good morning to you.
