Serving the Word: 18th June

SATURDAY 18th JUNE 2022

Matthew 6, 24-34:

“Seek above all things the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own troubles”.

Jesus doesn’t say that we should give up everything to seek the Kingdom of God.

Jesus wants us to be involved in our world.

That we engage in work, in society.

That we work to make the world a fairer and more humane place every day.

Because all this is also seeking the Kingdom of God.

The problem is when we use money and all that it brings with it in such a way that we lose sight of the Kingdom of God and we consider our life only in a material, economic and selfish way.

When we remain in the “extras”, which is precisely what is given to us when we truly seek the Kingdom of God and his justice.

When in our life project what appears as a backdrop are the words profit, productivity, power… and other similar words, we are not sincerely seeking the Kingdom of God, in whose backdrop other words such as truth, justice, solidarity, charity, sharing, dedication, service… must appear.

Seek the Kingdom of God in everything you do today and try to build the Kingdom of God in all your actions today. The rest will be given to you as well.

Good day.
