Serving the Word: 15th September

TUESDAY 15 SEPTEMBER

John 19, 25-27:
“When Jesus saw his mother and the disciple whom he loved, he said to his mother, ‘Woman, behold your son! Then he said to the disciple, ‘There is your Mother. And from that hour the disciple took her into his own home.

It is the crowning moment of Jesus.
It is the moment when, from his side opened by the lance, the Church will be born.
And Jesus, in that hour, wants to give us a Mother.
He wants the Church, which is all of us, to be able to take refuge in the Heart of a Mother.
We are all represented in the apostle John who receives Mary as his mother at the foot of the cross and takes her home. Today, the day of Our Lady of Sorrows, remember that Mary is your Mother. Take her also into the house of your heart.
Address these or similar words to her:
O Virgin and Mother of God,
I give myself for your son / daughter.
I consecrate myself to your motherly love so that you may form Jesus in me.
Send me and make me a docile instrument of your motherly love.
Send me to announce the Gospel to all my brothers and sisters who are also your children.
In you, my Mother, I have placed all my trust.
I will never be confounded.
Good day.
