MONDAY 14th NOVEMBER 2022
Luke 18:35-43:
“As Jesus was approaching Jericho, there was a blind man sitting by the roadside, begging alms. He cried out, ‘Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me! When he came near, Jesus asked him, “What do you want me to do for you? He said, “Lord, let him see again”. Jesus answered him, ” Your sight is restored, your faith has made you well. And immediately he recovered his sight and went on glorifying God”.
How often can each one of us be that poor blind man on the roadside begging for alms!
The blind man in the Gospel cries out loudly to Jesus even though they want to stop him.
While darkness reigned in his eyes, the light of faith shone in his heart. And this light ends up drowning out the darkness and also illuminates the eyes.
In the midst of darkness, need and helplessness, you too cry out loudly to Jesus. He is the light that shines in the darkness and enlightens every person who comes into this world.
The darkness can never overcome his light.
And don’t cry out only to enlighten your own eyes and your own heart. Shout also loudly so that it may illuminate so many dark situations in which so many people live and exist in our world.
You who receive the light of Christ, be a light for the world.
